By now, you all know that I’m a huge fan of natural beauty and skincare products. Primal Life Organics products have been my go-to for a couple of years now and I absolutely love them!
Today, I’m going to give a little review of my favorite products and introduce you to some of the newest items that Primal Life Organics offers. Stay tuned…there is an exclusive coupon code available for my readers only at the bottom of the post!!
In keeping with the real food and Paleo lifestyles, Primal Life Organics products are gluten-free and mostly vegan. Trina Felber, the CEO of Primal Life Organics, is a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. She knows the science behind the products she creates and each product has a thorough listing of ingredients, including information on the benefits of each item. She is careful to note which products are safe for pregnant and nursing mothers, and has a number of products designed just for the little ones in your life!
This is my very favorite PLO product! I have very sensitive skin that is prone to eczema breakouts when I come in contact with anything heavily scented or full of nasty chemicals. A couple of years ago, I tried experimenting with making my own deodorant, with baking soda and coconut oil. Major breakout! I found the Primal Pit Stick and Trina assured me that the arrowroot powder would be much gentler than baking soda. I expressed concern about the essential oils which scented the products. She said I shouldn’t have an issue as these scents were not the same as chemical fragrances. She was right!! I love both the Lavender and Cool Aloe Sensitive Primal Pit Sticks.
Several nights a week, I use the oil cleansing method, but on the nights that I have worked (and thus worn a little make-up) or after a heavy workout, I love what the Bare Primal Face Wash and Moisturizer do for my skin! The face wash is so gentle and it doesn’t leave my skin dry, just squeaky clean and fresh. The secret is the white Kaolin clay, which gently exfoliates, while improving skin’s elasticity and clarity.
When my skin is need of some deep moisture (especially in the winter months or after a day in the sun), the face moisturizer feels very rich and hydrating. When I don’t need quite so much, I still use the face moisturizer as an eye cream, keeping sleepy looking eyes at bay!
I use the Primal Face Toner every single day. Whether I oil cleanse or use the Primal Face Wash, this gentle toner leaves my skin felling bright and fresh. Plus, I love the subtle rose scent!
As I mentioned earlier, my sensitive skin is prone to eczema breakouts and very dry patches. I work in the medical field and wash my hands with harsh anti-bacterial soap frequently. I wish I could avoid this, but there isn’t much of a way around it. Primal Hand Repair to the rescue! I massage this into my hands at night and let it work it’s magic. The hydrating blend of aloe butter, Shea butter, beeswax, jojoba oil, coconut oil, and extra virgin olive oil helps to heal the damage I do throughout the day.
For those stubborn dry spots or small cuts or cracks that pop up in people with very dry skin, the Torn Up Primal Skin Repair is a must. I’ve seen it heal my dry, cracked skin in as little as two days and my Mom reports the same findings! Torn Up Primal Skin Repair was my Christmas stocking stuffer gift to several family members last year!
I love lip balm. I think every girl does deep down. I love that the Grunt Primal Lip Balm is such a clean product. So much goodness in here – Shea butter, coconut oil, beeswax, hemp seed oil, extra virgin olive oil, avocado oil, and peppermint essential oil. My lips stay soft and moisturized for most of the day with a morning application and I wake up without dryness after an evening application. I keep one in my purse and one by my bed.
Oh my gosh was I excited when Trina announced she would be offering sun protection products! Along with my sensitive skin, comes a propensity to burn to a crisp after a short period of time in the sun. I have tried tons of different commercial “natural” sunscreens – none of which were all that natural; the end result usually being some sort of itchy breakout. Most all of the oils used in this product offer natural SPF protection. I just received my order of Sun-Up Before Sun Protector last weekend and put it right to work. We went strawberry picking at 1:00PM with the sun beating down. I slathered this on before heading out for an hour and a half. Skin felt great and looked good – no redness. A few hours later, I reapplied and jumped into a kayak for a 30 minute ride. Then played around outside for another hour or so in the late afternoon sun. I had a slight pink hue to my skin, nowhere near a burn. The next morning, my skin was nicely tanned – no crispiness or breakouts, YAY!! Trina also offers this product with non-nano zinc oxide if you are looking for even more protection.
I’m not a big hair spray person (can’t say the same for my 1995 self!). I bought the Sweet Primal Hair Spray to use on special occasions where a little more style is called for. This spray offers a nice amount of hold without being overly stiff or sticky. I tried combing through my hair after applying it and had no difficulty or flaky residue. I’m looking forward to trying it after curling my super straight hair.
I’m in love with the Salty Primal Texturizing Spray! I love the look of beach hair – wavy and full from the wind. I live nowhere near the ocean, but this spray helps me get a little texture into my fine, straight hair. I applied when wet and scrunched the hair a bit. As it dried, I got some nice waviness and it looked a little fuller. I also tried using it on damp hair before blow drying. I found that I had a little more lift to my hair and the fullness lasted much of the day, even after combing.
So now what you all have been waiting for – the coupon code!! At check out, enter the code “this is so PLO” for 15% off of your entire order. This coupon will be valid from June 25-27 only, so don’t delay!!
