Tasty Theme Thursday – Citrus

80 Paleo Recipes Featuring Citrus | This is so good...It’s the dead of winter here in Michigan.  Snow covers everything and wool socks, sweaters, and boots are everyday apparel.  I actually enjoy winter for many reasons, but a couple of the things I don’t care for are limited sunshine and the lack of fresh, local produce, which is abundant and delicious during Michigan springs, summers, and falls.

Fortunately, we live in a time where food can travel to me, when I can’t get it here.  Although citrus is definitely not local, it is in season during the winter and if you look, you can usually find some grown in the United States.

Today’s Tasty Theme Thursday is all about the beautiful, bright, sunny colors and flavors of in-season citrus.  We will be featuring everything from savory dishes to desserts to refreshing drinks.

Winter is the perfect time to experiment with citrus.  Adding some zest or juice can really brighten up the heavy flavors of winter foods.  Plus cutting open a lemon is like a ray of sun that you may not have seen for awhile from your February sky!

All of the recipes in this round up are Paleo and Gluten-free.  Some recipes include white rice.  Others include raw dairy, which I believe you substitute in coconut milk for if you wished.  All of these recipes sound mouth-wateringly delicious!
