The first time I tried almond milk, it was store bought and it was about 7 years ago. At the time I was on the low-fat, whole grain train. I wouldn’t say that I ate a ton of sugar, but I definitely was not very discerning when it came to checking ingredient lists. Fat content was my main concern.
So I grabbed a carton of almond milk. Oh boy was I disappointed. It was overly sweet with a weird aftertaste.
The next year, I transitioned to a Paleo diet and decided to give up the skim milk and try full-fat raw dairy. It was amazing!! However, after a few years of tweaking my diet, I found that I did better with dairy in small amounts.
