I have been a huge fan of Primal Life Organics products pretty much since they were first introduced. These products are as natural as you can get and they really work! I feel that it’s important to be aware of not only what we put into our bodies, but also what we put on the outside of our bodies. I know many of you believe this as well, so I’m excited to share today’s post with you for three reasons: I’m reviewing what I consider to be my Primal Life Organics Summer Essentials, I have an exclusive coupon code just for my readers, AND a giveaway of a few of these amazing products.
Before we get to my current favorite products, I want to share why I believe in this company and the products they offer. Primal Life Organics products are gluten-free and mostly vegan, making them an ideal choice for those who are passionate about the Paleo/real food movement. Many of us are very aware of what we put in our bodies, but I feel it’s just as important to care about what we put on our bodies. Trina Felber, the CEO of Primal Life Organics, is a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist and she knows the science behind the products she creates. Each product has a thorough listing of all natural ingredients, including information on the benefits of each item. She is also careful to note which products are safe for pregnant and nursing mothers. She even has a product line designed for the kiddos!
The products I’m reviewing for you today are my summer must-haves. Some of these products I’ve been using for years and others are new to me. Each one plays an important role in my summertime beauty routine!
I absolutely love the Sun Up Product line. My skin is not only quite sensitive, but also fair. As a result, I turn into a lobster after a fairly short period of time in the sun. Over the years, I have tried a number of “natural” sunscreens that really were not totally natural and oftentimes still left me with some type of skin irritation. I purchased my first container of Sun Up Before Sun Protector a couple of years ago and have been using it faithfully whenever I’m in the sun. This stuff works! I reapply every 90 minutes (more often if I’m in the water) and my skin does not burn. Each of the oils used in this product offer natural SPF as well as being quite moisturizing for the skin. I end up with a nice tan, instead of a painful sunburn or an itchy skin rash. The Sun Up line also includes a spray on version, a non-nano zinc oxide version, and a lip protector.
Summertime means shorts, skirts, and the beach! So naturally, I want silky, smooth legs. I just bought my first tub of One Leg Up Shaving Cream and have been using it for about a month. Here’s why I’m digging it – I get a super close shave and I don’t have to moisturize after because the cream is so hydrating. You only need a very little bit of this cream to do an entire leg. I use a pea size amount and that’s more than enough. You will need to rinse your razor every few swipes or it will clog up since this is made Shea butter and several skin healthy oils. My legs are smooth for several days and I haven’t had a nick or cut yet!
The Salty Primal Texturizing Spray is the only hair styling product that I use at this point in time. For a wash and wear style, I spritz it thought wet hair, scrunch it up a few times, and let it air dry. My hair is pretty straight, so I don’t end up with curls, but I do get some nice waves. My favorite way to use this product is to give a little volume to my hair when I blow dry it. I spray the roots of my hair and then blow dry using my round brush. I get great volume and it lasts throughout the day. No stickiness or crunchiness and no bad ingredients!
Although I’m a big fan of the oil cleansing method, there are days when I need a little something more. If I have worn a little make-up or have worked out hard and sweated, I turn to Earth Face Wash. It’s super gentle and feels so refreshing. My skin feels soft and clean, but not dried out. Once again, a little goes a long way. Only a few drops are needed, so each bottle last quite a long time. I follow it up with a quick spray of the Primal Face Toner and some rose hip seed oil to complete my nightly skin care routine.
This is one of my very favorite PLO products! My very sensitive skin is prone to eczema breakouts when I come in contact with anything heavily scented or full of nasty chemicals. After trying to make my own deodorant with coconut oil and baking soda, I had a major breakout. I decided to give the Primal Stick Up a try since the sensitive version is made with arrowroot instead of baking soda. Trina assured me that arrowroot would be much gentler than baking soda and she was right! I also expressed concern about the essential oils which scented the products. She said I shouldn’t have an issue as these scents were not the same as chemical fragrances used in other commercial products. I haven’t had a single breakout from this product! The Primal Stick Up comes in several different scents as well as sensitive versions and a version made with white clay for added detox. All of the different versions are free of aluminum, chemicals, synthetic fragrances, and preservatives.
